RC CABINETS AND ANDREW LAUREN MERGE
TO BECOME REGIONAL SUPPLIER
Tempe, AZ, August, 2009. Andrew Lauren Interiors and RC Cabinets, two Tempe, AZ based businesses supplying flooring, countertops and cabinets to production and custom home builders, announced today they have merged. The combined company will adopt the “Andrew Lauren Interiors” corporate identity and the RC Cabinets brand will be retired.
“We are pleased to join together these two great companies and extend our presence in the homebuilding market,” said Bob Boscamp, who assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer of Andrew Lauren Interiors. “This merger builds on each of our company’s long histories of serving builder customers in the Phoenix metro area and strengthens our core capabilities in anticipation of a return to growth in the year ahead.”
There are many synergies between the two entities according to T.J. Wheeler of Andrew Lauren who will serve as President of the consolidated company. “Both companies nurture an exceptional service culture and distinguish themselves with quality product offerings that enhance the customer’s experience,” Wheeler said. “Andrew Lauren Interiors currently offers design center expertise, a strong regional installation team, and an expansive product line of granite countertops, flooring, and window treatments. And with the addition of RC Cabinets’ expertise in designing and installing cabinetry, its comprehensive product line, and emphasis on customer service, we will be better able to serve all the needs of our customers, both existing and new.”
Embracing Regional Growth as the Goal
Growing a leading business in the southwest that serves the needs of local, regional and national home builders with a related set of flooring, countertops and cabinets all backed by excellent customer service has been the strategy of entrepreneur Ian Hislop since entering the market and purchasing RC Cabinets in June 2007.
Since then, Hislop has expanded RC Cabinets’ operation with the purchase of SpaceMaker Furniture Factory in July 2008 and Scottsdale-based Omni Cabinets in November 2008 and has now added Andrew Lauren Interiors.
“I am excited that we can now include Andrew Lauren Interiors in our family of companies, which will trade under the flagship brand name of Andrew Lauren Interiors. With Andrew Lauren, we can better serve all our customers by offering an expanded line of related products with a continued focus on improving service levels and meeting customer needs. The last two years have been difficult for all of us in this market and will continue to be challenging but, we see this as an opportune time to continue growing our product set, reinforcing our commitment to customer service, and investing in the future,” said Hislop.
By merging Andrew Lauren Interiors and RC Cabinets, Hislop is one step closer to achieving his goal of becoming a truly diversified regional supplier. Though the majority of its business lies in new home construction, Andrew Lauren has branched out in recent years to the remodeling and retail sectors as has RC Cabinets, which has kept pace by adjusting its own product line. New distributor agreements were negotiated to offer more cabinet options across a range of price points that complemented the market’s move toward value-oriented home offerings and opened new markets in high rise and multi-family developments. RC Cabinets also announced a series of green initiatives to support consumer demand for environmentally friendly homes. Customer service has been a major focus for Bob Boscamp and the merged company intends to build on Boscamp’s vision.
